The whole province

Auditors throughout the province of Alicante

We work with companies, cooperatives, foundations and town councils in every district (comarca). We meet at your premises or at our office in Alicante, and the team travels for inventory counts and fieldwork. Each area has its own economic fabric and we take it into account when planning the audit.

Alicante, San Vicente and El Campello

L'Alacantí · Alicante, San Vicente del Raspeig, San Juan de Alicante, El Campello, Mutxamel, Jijona, Agost, Busot, Aigües and Torremanzanas

The area concentrates the province’s administrative, commercial and service activity, with the port and the university as hubs, as well as distribution, logistics, construction and property development companies. The most common needs are statutory audits of family groups and holding companies, special company law reports and support for non-profit organisations and the local public sector.

Elche, Santa Pola and Crevillent

Baix Vinalopó · Elche, Santa Pola and Crevillent

Elche is one of Spain’s major footwear centres, with a network of manufacturers, brands, wholesalers and ancillary workshops, alongside a business park with industrial and logistics activity. In audits, particular weight is given to the valuation and obsolescence of inventories, related-party transactions within family groups and export sales.

Elda, Petrer and Novelda

Vinalopó Mitjà · Elda, Petrer, Novelda, Monóvar, Aspe, Pinoso, Monforte del Cid, La Romana, Algueña, Hondón de las Nieves and Hondón de los Frailes

Elda and Petrer form one of the country’s best-known footwear clusters, with production of shoes and components and their marketing. Common engagements include audits of manufacturers with significant inventories, of agricultural cooperatives and of wineries, as well as viability plans in sectors exposed to foreign competition.

Villena and Sax

Alt Vinalopó · Villena, Sax, Biar, Beneixama, Salinas, Cañada and Camp de Mirra

An inland district with an industrial base in which footwear and manufacturing carry weight, together with significant agricultural and agri-food activity and a strategic location between Alicante, Valencia and the Meseta (the central plateau) that favours logistics. Medium-sized companies in the area typically need statutory audits, review of grant expenditure statements for investment aid and support with corporate transactions in family businesses.

Torrevieja, Orihuela and Pilar de la Horadada

Vega Baja del Segura (Baix Segura) · Torrevieja, Orihuela, Pilar de la Horadada, Almoradí, Callosa de Segura, Guardamar del Segura, Rojales, Catral, Dolores, Cox and Redován, among others

The inland area is a market-garden plain of citrus fruit and vegetables, with agri-food handling, packing and export companies, agricultural cooperatives and irrigation communities. Common audit engagements involve cooperatives, agricultural processing companies (SAT), property developers and local authorities where town planning carries significant weight.

Benidorm, Villajoyosa and Altea

Marina Baixa · Benidorm, Villajoyosa, L'Alfàs del Pi, Altea, La Nucía, Finestrat, Callosa d'en Sarrià and Polop

Benidorm is one of Spain’s leading tourist destinations, with a very high concentration of hotels, holiday apartments, restaurants and leisure businesses, and a service sector that operates all year round. Key audit areas include revenue recognition and customer advances, leases of premises, major investments in refurbishment and staff remuneration.

Dénia, Jávea and Calp

Marina Alta · Dénia, Jávea, Calp, Teulada-Moraira, Benissa, Pego, Ondara and Pedreguer, among others

A district whose economy is based on residential tourism, with a large number of foreign residents, house building and maintenance, the nautical sector and services, as well as citrus growing and wine. Common audit clients are property developers and construction companies, highly seasonal service businesses and asset-holding companies, with particular attention to property inventories and transactions with shareholders.

Alcoy, Ibi and Onil

L'Alcoià · Alcoy, Ibi, Onil, Castalla, Banyeres de Mariola, Tibi, Benifallim and Penàguila

Alcoy is an industrial town with a tradition in textiles, metalworking and paper, and a fabric of medium-sized, family-owned exporting businesses. Key audit areas include production costs and inventories, seasonal toy sales, R&D&I projects with public funding and reorganisations of family groups.

Cocentaina and Muro de Alcoy

El Comtat · Cocentaina, Muro de Alcoy, Planes, Agres, Alcocer de Planes, Beniarrés and Gaianes, among others

Cocentaina and Muro continue Alcoy’s textile tradition, with manufacturers of home textiles, technical fabrics and finishing, alongside small agri-food businesses. Frequently asked questions

When a company exceeds at least two of these three thresholds for two consecutive financial years: total assets of €2,850,000, net turnover of €5,700,000 or an average workforce of 50 employees (Article 263.2 of the Spanish Companies Act, LSC). It is also mandatory in other cases, for example if the entity has received public grants or aid of more than €600,000 in a financial year (second additional provision of the Regulation implementing the Spanish Audit Act), and shareholders representing at least 5% of the share capital may ask the Companies Register (Registro Mercantil) to appoint an auditor (Article 265.2 LSC). We explain all the cases in this article.

Throughout the province. We work with companies, cooperatives, foundations and town councils in Elche, Benidorm, Torrevieja, Orihuela, Elda, Petrer, Alcoy, Dénia, Villena and the rest of the municipalities. Meetings can be held at your premises or at our office on Avenida Maisonnave, much of the review is coordinated remotely and the team travels for inventory counts and fieldwork.

The general meeting must appoint the auditor before the end of the financial year to be audited (Article 264.1 LSC). The work is then organised around the statutory deadlines: the directors prepare the accounts within three months of the year-end (Article 253), the general meeting approves them within the first six months (Article 164) and they are filed with the Companies Register within one month of their approval (Article 279). We recommend getting in touch before the year-end so that the inventory count can be planned well in advance.

Under Article 50 of the Valencian Cooperatives Act (Legislative Decree 2/2015), a cooperative must be audited when required by the Spanish Audit Act (for example, because it exceeds the legal thresholds or receives significant grants), when it has a credit section, when a minority of members requests it, or when the articles of association provide for it or its governing bodies so resolve. We explain this in detail in our article on auditing Valencian cooperatives.

It depends on the terms of each call for applications. Where they require a grant expenditure statement accompanied by an auditor’s report (Article 74 of the Regulation implementing the Spanish General Grants Act), we review the expenditure, the payments and their link to the project and issue the report in accordance with Order EHA/1434/2007, following the template provided with the call where there is one. Find out more about grant audits.

Valencian foundations must have their accounts audited in the cases set out in Article 21.6 of Law 8/1998 on Foundations of the Valencian Community, which take into account their size and other circumstances. For associations, it depends on their legal regime and the public aid they receive. We explain this in our article on auditing foundations and associations.

Yes. We assist the comptroller’s offices (intervención) of local authorities with financial control, under the terms of Article 34 of Royal Decree 424/2017, we apply the auditing standards for the Spanish public sector (NIA-ES-SP) and we provide economic, accounting and asset management assistance to town councils and their dependent bodies.

Yes, and that is the norm. The Spanish Audit Act prevents the auditor from keeping the accounting records or preparing the financial statements of the entity it audits (Article 16), so your adviser continues to keep the accounts and we review them independently. We work in coordination with your adviser so that the audit does not interfere with your day-to-day operations.

The fee depends on the size of the entity, its sector and the complexity of its operations; after an initial conversation we send you a written proposal with no obligation. We are an audit firm registered with the ROAC (no. S1604), our partners are directly involved in every engagement and we know the Valencian legislation affecting cooperatives, foundations and grants.
